He tends to play the unflappable tough guy on the silver screen.
But Gerard Butler sobbed like a big baby as he shaved off his beard as he prepared to reshoot scenes for forthcoming film Hunter Killer on Monday.
The on-screen action man gave a typically hammy performance as he gurned for the cameras while giving his beloved facial fuzz the chop.
Gerry, who hails from the glamourous Renfreshire town of Paisley, sobbed as he trimmed away, at one point exclaiming, ‘Oh mummy!’ and, ‘Oh my God!’
In addition, just before the 47-year-old law graduate began his trim he said he was going to ‘shoot’ his whiskers, before begging a sidekick to tell him the correct word.
The jocular Jock said: ‘Shoot? Em, what do you call this? Shave? Shave my beard off after a year of having it on.
Explaining his mental state, the 300 star said: ‘I’m totally depressed. I’ve also got to cut my hair… to do some additional photography on Hunter Killer.
Given principal photography on the film began away back in July 2016 in London, the Scottish oatcake’s band of fans will surely be curious to know just
why they are refilming for the movie again at such a late stage.
It seems Gerry was not expecting it either as he boasted of his beard: ”I’ve literally had this since last December. It’s been way longer than this too.
And after he had gone through his ordeal, he captioned his video: ‘Consider myself trimmed, finally.’
